Affilaite marketing explained

With the arrival of the internet, a vast amount of opportunities and information were made available to the global population to take advantage of. The thing is, the internet can be quite intimidating. I often feel there is actually too much information available and I for one, still find it extremely overwhelming.

But the fact of the matter is, because of access to the internet to most of the world, it has opened many doors for us all. We must just know how to make the most of it.

When I decided that I wanted to make money online, I had no idea where to start. There were so many opportunities and possibilities, but I always felt that it was kind of just going over my head because of the fact that I was not internet and technology savvy at all.

One of the options that were available was to open an online store, but I didn’t have a product of my own to sell. So I put that idea on hold for a while. I first wanted to find my feet and learn more.

Then I discovered affiliate marketing. And this interested me a lot. The definition of affiliate marketing as explained in the dictionary is as follows: “A¬†marketing arrangement by which an online retailer pays commission to an external website for traffic or sales generated from its referrals.” And this tickled my fancy.

I started my first marketing position as a telesale (yes, those totally annoying people calling you over the phone when it suits you least to sell you a service or product that you don’t really want or need!) in 1993. And I was good at it! But I worked (very hard) for a boss, doing most of the work and earning least of the money. And I did so till quite recently.

My point is, marketing was my forte. So when I accidentally stumbled across affiliate marketing and I saw the amount of commissions they paid out, I was very interested! To say the least! After doing quite a bit of research about whether this would be the right opportunity for me, I decided that this was indeed the way to start my internet earnings journey.

With conservative marketing you have a restricted area to market to and you have one, maybe a bit more, products that you can market. (Depending on what you were marketing)

The beauty of affiliate marketing (besides the fact that they pay very generous commissions!) is that you can choose exactly how many products you want to market, and the world is literally your oyster! You can market to the whole world! That is awesome! And I liked that a lot!

It’s really not that complicated. You basically join an affiliate company or network, obtain an affiliate link, and market the product with that affiliate link. When that link is clicked and results in a sale, you get paid commission. If that client purchases four times after the initial purchase, you get paid commission again.

And you are looking at earning commissions from 25% to as much as 1000% with monthly and annual recurring commission! Yeah, you heard me right! Great stuff, right? I want a piece of that!

The added bonus is that you can work from home, providing you have the infrastructure (which is really not that difficult to set up), and you can work whenever it suits you. Bonus! Needless to say if you don’t work, you don’t earn money. So discipline and time management comes in very handy here. But these are minor obstacles.

The major benefit is that you no longer work for a boss, you can choose the product(s) you want to market, you have the whole world as an audience, and you work mainly to benefit yourself.

With this being said, JVZoo is one of my favorite affiliate marketing networks. It’s free to join, and offers a large product selection you can choose from to either market, or purchase in order to assist you on your journey to make money online. Whatever your area of interest is. Click here to go to their website, check them out and join up now.
